Tamil Youth Camp - A great success

Theme : Arise Youth ! Shine In Your Family !
Venue : St.Chastan & Imbert Chai Leng Park , Perai
Date : 8 & 9 July 2011
Participants: 133
Focusing on this year's diocesan theme on family , a camp with the theme "Arise Youth, Shine in Family" was  a good start to the Tamil youths in northern district and other districts. The camp  helped the youths to realize and understand about their responsibility to the family. The camp started with praise and worship and followed by sessions conducted by Fr. Victor Louis (NBVM,Butterworth parish priest)  and Bro Kevin.

Next day,  the mass was celebrated by Fr. Dominic Santhiyagu. In his homily, he explained more about the theme of the camp. After that, another session was conducted by Bro Kevin. The session helped the youths to reflect about their family.

All in all, the camp was a good start to rebuild the relationship in family .

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all for the success of this came.

TAIZE Prayer

Taize is a tiny village in eastern France where young people come on pilgrimage to build community and participate in prayer and reflection. Taize prayer is a gathering of people with a common goal: to encounter oneself and God in prayer through songs and meditation.  It could be likened to an Upper Room experience when God appeared to His disciples.  It is an experience of peaceful communion with God in silence.  It is “a gathering of a common voice… to proclaim and respond to the Word of God”.
